Monday ~ Day 3 of 31

Job 37

1 “At this my heart pounds
and leaps from its place.
2 Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice,
to the rumbling that comes from his mouth.
3 He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven
and sends it to the ends of the earth.
4 After that comes the sound of his roar;
he thunders with his majestic voice.
When his voice resounds,
he holds nothing back.
5 God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.
6 He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’
7 So that everyone he has made may know his work,
he stops all people from their labor.[a]
8 The animals take cover;
they remain in their dens.
9 The tempest comes out from its chamber,
the cold from the driving winds.
10 The breath of God produces ice,
and the broad waters become frozen.
11 He loads the clouds with moisture;
he scatters his lightning through them.
12 At his direction they swirl around
over the face of the whole earth
to do whatever he commands them.
13 He brings the clouds to punish people,
or to water his earth and show his love.

14 “Listen to this, Job;
stop and consider God’s wonders.
15 Do you know how God controls the clouds
and makes his lightning flash?
16 Do you know how the clouds hang poised,
those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?
17 You who swelter in your clothes
when the land lies hushed under the south wind,
18 can you join him in spreading out the skies,
hard as a mirror of cast bronze?

19 “Tell us what we should say to him;
we cannot draw up our case because of our darkness.
20 Should he be told that I want to speak?
Would anyone ask to be swallowed up?
21 Now no one can look at the sun,
bright as it is in the skies
after the wind has swept them clean.
22 Out of the north he comes in golden splendor;
God comes in awesome majesty.
23 The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power;
in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.
24 Therefore, people revere him,
for does he not have regard for all the wise in heart?[b]”

When you find yourself asking, "can it rain anymore?"  Consider the one who sends it.  It is 12:30 in the afternoon and I am sitting here still in my pj's.  Yep.  But it has been a restful day and much has been accomplished.  Well, I guess that would depend on what you call success (which is another blog post I plan to do soon).  I also found in scripture support for sending ourselves and our kids to their bed when they have gotten in trouble!  Aren't you guessing where now?  Spent some precious minutes on the phone with a friend just chatting.  Thought out my farmer's market presentation more, made more soap, had Bible and prayer with the boys at breakfast.  I do have plans outside the house today so I am right off to the shower next but wanted to keep up to date with myself and this accountability thing.  I haven't even looked at Day 3 for 31 Days to Clean yet, maybe after dinner???

Breakfast:  2 lightly scrambled eggs
Lunch: apple with almond butter
Dinner: hungarian cabbage & noodles (rice), corn
Snack later tonight made by Chandler: hot spiced chocolate tea

What about you?  Weren't able to start from Day 1 no worries jump in here today!  Can't wait to hear from you.  Sometimes we get in a rut and we just new fresh ideas so don't be hesitant to share.

Hey, sorry I didn't get time to post last night.

Day 3
Breakfast was a buckwheat blueberry waffle with some maple syrup.

mid morning snack of fruit salsa with brown rice chips

Lunch was some more raw cucumbers and corn salsa with jicama that Morgan was hungry for and brought home for us.

Dinner was a salad with chicken sausage and onions with a honey poppyseed dressing.

So excited to hear you are going to be at the farmer's market. Are you selling of doing one of your classes? We are looking into our farmer's market here for selling Makky's cards she has been making. We will see what happens. :D

Oops... forgot the brown rice and flax pan bread we made to go with our salads. It had some buttermilk in it but is a very simple and light addition for salads.

I also keep forgetting to list my exercise. I ran/walked 3 1/2 miles on Sunday morning and worked out to a Jillian video yesterday. I really don't like the video, but it is quite a workout!! Not sure what I will get to today.
I am really encouraged to have this discipline. I know we are just looking to limit things and not be perfect about it, but it helps me consider my food choices even more and it really makes you try and vary the diet more.
Have a great 4th day!! :D
